National Mistake!!!!

Today, 24 December 2009 The New Straits Times newspaper committed a huge error in Page Two of their own newspaper!!! What an embarrassment to a newspaper company which is entrusted by BN to dish out government propaganda.....

Here it is... THE HUGE MISTAKE!!!!

The Sun newspaper on top left shows the correct headline while NST shows the wrong headline and story!

The Sun's headline: RPGT applicable to properties sold WITHIN FIVE YEARS of purchase

The New Straits Times headline: Property gains tax only AFTER 5 years of ownerhip!!!

Doesn't NST know the difference between 'within' and 'after'. How embarrassing for a newspaper that has been around since the year 1847. To the writer whose name is Farrah Nur Karim, I wish you best of luck in your future.... You have created history for NST by creating a national error!! People around the country will be misleaded by your article and this will create even more confusion about the Real Property Gains Tax (RPGT) in future. As if it isn't confusing enough right now!! I hope action will be taken towards whoever is at fault for this including the editor who with years of experience created an error on PAGE TWO of the NST that is read nationwide!!

On the brighter side christmas is around the corner so Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Endings...

It is 22 December 2009 as i'm writing this now. Today is a very sad day for me as a person that I have gotten to know so well had finally left. Never to be seen again in real life. To think back, this year seemed to be a year where many people that I care or know left. First, it was Priyanka, then it was Visha, next was Teshvin and now finally Melissa Yap Jin Li.

Currently a foreigner.

Got to know her only in 2007 but formally in 2008 thanks to a bunch of Form 5 friends namely (Esther, Gupreet and Angeline) Ever since then we gotten closer especially during the practice session for English drama group. She's a silent girl but really brave and yet funny. Had soo much fun together. I shared many things with her. Thing you'll be shock about if you do find out!! Right now the only way for me to connect with her is through facebook which sucks because Malaysia is notoriously know for SUPER SUPER slow internet connections.

Our theme for that night was Au Revoir meaning GoodBye!

Anyway, I haven't blogged about the Form 5 farewell party at PGRM. Being in charge of something so massive shocked me to the core! You'll be shocked to know that there are so many little details that has to be looked upon. Small things like getting the drum-set to the hotel, preparing souvenir booklets, arranging the performances, selling tickets, collecting $$, choosing a hotel, and so many other stuffs. It gets really exhausting. However, immediately after the event when at least 50% of those who attended said the event was good, you feel that all your hard work was worth it.

Beautiful ballroom in Cempaka

I had a huge responsibility to ensure that evening was successful as that night would be the final night that all Form 5's would be seeing each other. Attendance was close about 250 people. Just enough to fill the ballroom at Dewan Cempaka in Hotel Seri Cempaka. The ballroom was better than expected. Quite beautifully decorated and was big enough for everyone to dance at the same moment. I've really gotta thank a few people for helping me make this event truly a success!!! Actually, it was a combined effort between many of us that made it successful. So here goes the list of people who helped...

Chuang Viyen
Bryan Choi
Yoon Yi Ning
Tyo Hui Hoon
Lee Shun Yan
NurShahida
Daniel Boey
Joshua Quah
Divya Kumari
Gabriel Thai
Lim Sin Ting
Yap Yow Chun
Clerks in the school office

Once again Thank You for your help!!

Suffocated at home when they did fogging.

Basically, now I'm just preparing myself for the year 2010 where a different environment is expected and different challenges will occur. In a few weeks also, I'll be a year older and wiser. Which means more responsibility. Anyhow, everyone has to face it someday and it is my turn to face it next year.

Books everywhere......

Goodbye!!!

Tons of people are migrating from Malaysia!! Many reports everywhere are saying people are leaving in droves to foreign countries. 300,000 people left in just about more than a years time...

But for some reason, I for one do NOT want to leave Malaysia. (No idea why am I so patriotic)
I sort of love Malaysia a lot. Till today I have been a good citizen. No crimes committed yet!! I suppose 8 March 2008 really gave me hope that our country will head into the right direction again. From my point of view, what is there not to like about our country??

Well, I know what I like the most about our country

Anyways,  I'm still scratching my head as the Form 5 farewell party will be on next Tuesday. Organizing an event is super exciting and fun if you are the boss and making the decision but can be annoying if you are under someone. Nevertheless, this is an experience that I will cherish for a long long time. FYI, the dinner will be in Hotel Seri Cempaka. Sorry guys for not being able to make it in Sheraton Subang.

I love my aunts car number plate...

Yesterday, i was at Tg, Sepat having seafood with my parents and relatives. Then corssed over to that famous Golden Palm Tree water villa at Sepang Gold Coast. Surprising to say, the project is almost completed! It looks spectacular. Really cool project in my opinion... On my way back at around 9pm while driving somewhere in Putrajaya, my GPS unit BURNT internally!! I do not know how it happen but seconds later smoke was coming out from it. Totally shocked, I said to my dad
Me: Dad, GPS burn already!!!
Dad: Hah?? Are you serious??
Me: Yeah, I'm serious.
Dad: Oh... (Then no comment).... Silence.....

It stretches out 1.5km into the sea

So sad..... That GPS took me to so many places all around Malaysia.
R.I.P GPS.... But that goodness we were in Putrajaya at a familar location so we knew our way home. Thinking about it, its quite scary if we were in a jungle road when that GPS suddenly say Bye Bye to us.....

Passed away peacefully......

Back to my life, these day I'm looking around wikipedia for anything interesting. Happy to say I found so many interesting things. Among them are 1998 Commonwealth Games, DST or Daylight Saving, SMK Taman Connaught, May 13, Pakatan Rakyat, AirAsia, Queen Elizabert and so many other random stuff. I'm more knowledgeable now. Hurray to myself!!... (I feel so nerdy now)

Nerd in the making

As of now, holiday mood is still within me and sorry to say, studying is my lowest priority right now. Top priority right now are to enjoy, enjoy and enjoy. Looking at how fast days are passing by sometimes scare me but I keep telling myself that i am ready to face next year and the year after that!! Basically, 2009 has been an exciting year for me and was really interesting. main highlights were basically winning drama comp, being elected as head prefect and travelling so damn much....

2010 here we come.....

Most awesome shot!!

Found this off the net. A Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777-2H6/ER caught debris in its engine. Had to turn back to Stockholm - Arlanda airport. No one was hurt and the plane landed safely.

UpDate while you are Gone FROM SCHOOL & some other rANdom StuFF!!

We have only been gone for two weeks from school for those who are in Form 1,2,3, and 4 but things are still happening in school especially our new upcoming Block D! A few days ago I was just in school for a short meeting and this is what I saw :-

Things are finally moving!!! I really hope to do my Form Six here in this school. At this rate, I believe the new block will be up by May next year!! WooHOO!!!

GUESS WHAT I SAW ALSO!!

YUP!! It's Mr. Lee Kwang Huat our science teacher and his young little son!! Cute guy... Haha
Saw him in Sunway Pyramid today. He was with his son on stage in Sunway for some sort of competition for kids. Still can't believe I saw him.

Anyway, I'm proud to announce that SAKAE SUSHI and SUBWAY will officially be opening very very soon in Leisure Mall. Yay!! Today, while in Sunway Pyramid the queue at Sakae Sushi was REALLY long however the queue at nearby Sushi King was nil!! HAHA

Look at the pretty sign. =)

Finally, enjoy your holidays kay to those of you who are in the middle of it.

Holiday but....

Back from Phuket...
Went there to celebrate my parents 25th anniversary. 25 years!!! OMG!! I can't believe it.....
Had the opportunity to travel to some place exotic but somehow felt very bored.
Maybe travel too much already... (What am I saying!!!)
More interested to come home after the third night there in Phuket.
However, I did manage to have quite alot of fun.
Visited Patong Beach. (Saw many *girls* and pondans & lala's) LOL
It was quite funny actually. Don't know why but feel like laughing everytime I see those type of people. (No offence intended to anyone)
Not used to it here in Malaysia. =]

Went to Phi Phi Island for snorkeling BUT i still say Redang was better. Fish 10x more variety and more colourful compared to Phi Phi Island. Raining very often there because of the monsoon season but was glad it stopped raining on the 3rd and 4th day I was there. I did love the resort I was staying!! It was so damn beautiful. Marriott Vacation Club on Mai Khao beach located north of Phuket. Super luxirious 5 star resort.
Got my own room with two queen size bed!!! Huge bed!!! Got three flat screen Sony Bravia TV in every room plus the living room and our own swimming pool in our villa. Awsome!!!

Well, four day passed like in 5 seconds and I'm here back in my home. In a few more days, December will be here. I'm looking forward to Christmas!!! Hopefully I can feel the same Christmas spirit like last year again. That spirit was due to Ho Yoong Wei and Daniel Boey accepting me into their hearts through their christmas parties. Thank you guys!!

Selamat Hari Raya Haji to those who celebrate it. =]

It feels great!!!!

Two days ago I was in Equatorial Hotel in Kuala Lumpur for the closing ceremony and prize presentation or our EYE (Exxon Mobil Young Entrepreneur) program. I chose to be one of the presenters on that day to present our annual report. That was the best decision I made!!

Four of us was chosen among the company employees. Me, Ida, Chin Yung, and Jonathan. We rocked that day!! We won the best presentation award!! So cool!

We did make a few mistakes for example, I mention wrongly the name of the VIP who was the business services director or ExxonMobil subsidiaries.  Her name is FATIMAH MERICAN but i pronounced FARIDAH MERICAN... (Maybe hear the name Puan Faridah in school too many times edi.. hehe)

The other three were not bad when presenting also. We did practice a few times but I was not really confident that we could have won as I believed we could have practice even more before the actual presentation. BTW, I uploaded the photos on to facebook already. Go see it if you have interest to see it. Right now i'm still happy that we brought home the 'Best Company Award'.

I'm gonna try to describe 'the' moment again when they announced SMKTC as the winners!.
Here goes,

MC: Now we are now going to present the best company award to the schools. Drum roll please. The third place goes to..... SMK Sains Alam Shah
Audience: (claps)* We were so happy we didn't get third. (Estelle squeeze my hand SO HARD at this moment, she scared we didn't win) hehe
MC: Congratulations, now the second best company award goes to.... SMK Bandar Utama 2!!
Audience: (claps)*
SonnyBiz members: Scream until want to die already!!!! The MC didn't need to announce us as first place because they gave all the awards to the other 5 schools already. (Consolation: SM Darul Ehsan, SMK Seri Mutiara, SMK ...sumthing(forgot the name) haha.) So we scream like crazy, stand and clap together so happily.
MC: And the best company goes to SMK Taman Connaught!!
Audience and SonnyBiz members: Still clap like crazy screaming and WooHoo-ing!! At this moment Chin Yung go up to the stage and collects the prize. A huge trophy made of 24k karat gold lining on a vase.
Everyone was very happy at that moment. Pengetua looked VERY VERY happy. Still shocked like crazy that we actually won the competition. Although our profits were very high we didn't know we were that far ahead of  all 5 other schools. Our companies profit was RM14k(RM14,000) and our sales revenue was RM42k (RM42,000.00). The school that came close to our school only made a profit of RM9k and a revenue of RM20k.

For this, I would like to thank all SMK Taman Connaught students and teachers for giving us this victory and bringing fame to our school!! Not to mention, everyone else who helped us in anyway possible!!!

Go here to read about our school.
